Hearing Systems and Centre for Applied Hearing Research is supported by three the Danish hearing-aid companies Oticon, Widex, GN Resound and their foundations
In addition Phonak and Sivantos (Siemens) have been supporting individual PhD projects within audiology and hearing technology.
Engineers and researchers from the companies regularly suggest specific topics for M.Sc. or Ph.D. projects and contribute with their experience and expertise in applied research and development, and they often act as external supervisors.
We regularly arrange mutual guest lectures and presentations, common organisation of workshops and conferences and discussions in research courses. Hearing Systems and the Centre for Applied Hearing Research, CAHR, attracts interesting international guests, and it is our experience that representatives from the Danish industry actively participate in the scientific discussions with the guests.
A new research centre at Hearing Systems Oticon Centre of Excellence for Hearing and Speech Scinces,CHeSS, has been founded under the leadership of Professor Torsten Dau in parallel with CAHR. While CAHR focuses on more applied research the new research centre will have more focus on fundamental aspects of hearing research.
This centre is supported by The Oticon Foundation.
