Hearing Systems has been a member of several EU networks like the European Marie Curie Initial Training Networks on “Improved Communication through Applied Hearing” (ICanHear). The ICanHear project had focus on state of the art hearing research, but the organizers of the project also believed that it is an important skill for the hearing researchers to be able to communicate the research to ‘non experts’. That is why there in the project is a number of activities to develop these skills and this video was an example of that.

ICanHear has developed models based on emerging knowledge about higher-level processing within the auditory pathway and exploit that knowledge to develop creative solutions that will improve the performance of hearing instruments. New signal processing methods were implemented on a unified open signal processing platform and were evaluated in terms of user benefits on common evaluation scenarios and data bases.
